Overview
The Federal Civil Records Search scans across the 94 U.S. federal courts for violations of federal civil law, including cases involving potential damages of more than $75,000 between citizens from different states or countries. Additional potential findings include tort damages, civil rights, and class action lawsuits.
The search will go back a maximum of 7 years. No results will be returned beyond the 7 year timeframe.
Ordering
The Federal Civil Court Search can be added on to any of GoodHire’s available background check packages.
Reviewing Results
If no records are found, the Federal Civil Court Search tab will display a clear status.
Alerts:
If there are any records that match the candidate’s name and date of birth, they will be displayed in the results tab of the National Criminal Databases Search. Each record displays the record source and offender details.
Clicking “Show More Details” at the bottom of each record will expand the record to display the offenses attached, with each offense record containing substantial information about offense type, date, and outcome.
Turnaround Times
Turnaround time for the Federal Civil Court Search ranges from 1 to 3 business days.
Notes
Note that the Federal Civil Records Search will only go back 7 years, even if the candidate’s base salary is $75,000 or more. The search will not return cases where the candidate is the plaintiff.
