If you’ve received an Alert on your Social Security Number trace here is important information for you to know:
Was your Social Security number entered correctly?
Your Social Security number is listed on your Social Security card.
- If you or an employer entered your SSN incorrectly an Alert will appear on this section of your results.
- The background check will need to be rerun with the correct SSN to get a Clear result.
- If an employer ran the background check on you please contact the company that ran the report.
- If you ran the background check on yourself, you will need to rerun it with the correct SSN.
Don’t have a Social Security card?
You can get a new or replacement Social Security card from the Social Security Administration.
Social Security number entered correctly but couldn’t be verified?
We recommend running your free annual credit report to make sure that the information is accurate and up to date. If you find information that is incorrect you can contact the credit reporting company to get it corrected.
