Matthew Monahan is the CEO of Inflection. Raised in the Midwest, Matthew studied entrepreneurship at the University of Southern California. He dropped out after his sophomore year and joined forces with brother Brian to start Inflection in 2006. When he isn’t building products or giving high-5’s at Inflection, Matthew is passionate about bringing his entrepreneurial spirit to the nonprofit ecosystem and New Zealand.
Brian started Inflection in his Harvard dorm room in 2006. He finished two years at Harvard before continuing the Monahan-college-dropout legacy. Brian’s role at the company now involves strategy and analytics. Brian’s interests include meditation, permaculture, and busting out the occasional rap.
Michele jumped into the Internet boom in Silicon Valley over 15 years ago, learning the ins-and-outs of marketing, product, and leadership at some of the earliest consumer brands, like eBay and Skype. Her natural ability to mix the hands-on details and big-picture leadership needed at today’s lean, global companies, plus her continued success in building best-in-class brands and products for North American customers make her Inflection’s choice for VP of Marketing. Michele has a degree in International Relations from The American University and is based at our Redwood City headquarters.
Nachi began consulting with Inflection in early 2007 and joined full-time in February 2008. Alongside Conrad, Nachi is the mastermind architect behind STORM, Inflection’s e-commerce and marketing platform. Before Inflection, Nachi was the VP of Software Development at Terrace Consulting and VP of Product Technology at RelayHealth (originally named Healinx). As the Managing Partner of The Enticy Group, Nachi also consulted with Hot Topic Media, which led to his introduction to Inflection. Nachi’s interests include sailing, snowboarding, spending time with his daughters, and writing code with 0% defects.
Max joined Inflection in July 2012 to lead the planning and launch of GoodHire. Max oversees GoodHire’s product strategy, development, pricing, marketing, and overall growth. Before joining the Inflection team, Max managed and launched enterprise and small business software products for Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft. He received an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and undergraduate degrees from the Wharton School and School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. His passions outside of work include international travel, golf, cooking, home brewing, and epic karaoke performances.
Marielle leads recruiting at Inflection. She’s led recruiting for businesses in the software, marketing technology & services, and entertainment industries, such as Apigee, Estalea and News Digital Media (Fox). She’s a graduate of UC Irvine and has a PhD in Germanic Languages and Literatures from Harvard. Marielle enjoys yoga, meditation, skiing, scuba diving, and cinema.
Brian Kielian’s operational leadership spans over 20 years. With a particular interest and aptitude in leading expansion both stateside and internationally, he has a rich history with organizations on the cusp of rapid growth. He joined PayPal during its infancy and subsequently led operations through international expansion, going public, and the eBay merger. He has also grown operations for companies such as Energy Pioneer, TPG, InfoUSA, TeleTech, West, Sitel, Teleperformance, and Transcom. Brian loves organization and streamlining processes, which likely explains his passion for technology. He has a fondness for all things Apple and GoPro, both of which he uses to produce a “Year in Review” video for each of his two daughters.
Annie leads the Identity.com business, a holistic end-to-end trust and safety solution that enables companies to verify identities and assess risk in their online communities and businesses. Before joining Inflection in 2015, Annie spent over ten years in financial and operating roles across mobile, software and services, and venture capital industries. Most recently, Annie was a Vice President at Nokia Growth Partners, a $1 billion+ growth stage venture capital fund, where she invested in and helped grow companies within the Marketplaces and Applied Big Data industries. Annie holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree from The University of California, Berkeley.
Joseph Doyle drives all sales activities and management for GoodHire’s U.S Corporate Sales, Field Sales, and Account Management team members. Twice in the last 15 years, Joe has helped grow small regional companies into nationally known brands. Both were acquired. As VP of Sales, Joseph is hoping for a third win with GoodHire.
Matt has been with Inflection since 2013, infusing his passion for online privacy, citizen advocacy, digital rights, cats, and bacon into everything he does. Matt is responsible for privacy, security, and compliance across Inflection’s portfolio of brands, as well as product development and strategy for Identity.com. When not at work, you can probably find him engaged in indoors-y activities like playing Super Smash or reading Edward Snowden AMAs on Reddit.
Anthony joined Inflection in May 2015 and leads our data science and engineering effort. His team uses cutting edge big data and machine learning technologies to advance Inflection’s core product features. Prior to joining Inflection, Anthony co-founded Algorithms.io, which offers machine learning algorithms as a service; it was acquired by LumenData in 2013. Besides wrangling data and algorithms, Anthony loves to go hiking and biking with his family around the bay area.
Kim joined Inflection in April 2015 and leads a talented crew of content creators who bring Inflection’s work to life through words, pictures, and video. She joined Inflection after more than 16 years in the business-tech media world, where she worked on content marketing projects for IBM, Dell, CA, HP, Jive, and many other tech companies. Outside of work, Kim loves books, movies, and trips to the beach with her surfing-obsessed teen.
Avanti leads the STORM platform engineering team at Inflection. Avanti is passionate about the technology and loves to explore and implement various solutions in the e-commerce domain. Prior to Inflection, Avanti was part of the e-commerce teams at YP and Ingenio. Avanti received a Masters in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and worked for Microsoft after graduation. Avanti enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with her daughter.
Brian joined Inflection in July 2008. Brian leads the online and corporate IT operations at Inflection. Prior to joining Inflection, Brian has worked at Silicon Valley giants and a couple of startups. Brian has a passion for all things tech and turning IT requirements into competitive advantages. Outside of work Brian can be found golfing, gaming, and walking his dogs.
Julie is the latest addition to the GoodHire Product Team, overseeing development of the consumer and B2B products. Prior to Goodhire, Julie was a Senior Product Manager at Ancestry.com and the first Product Manager at Archives.com (acquired by Ancestry.com in 2012). She graduated from Santa Clara University in 2007 and hails from Bellevue, Washington. Julie is passionate about building all-star teams and products that improve the lives of customers. In her free time she dives into art projects, horseback riding, and loves to explore Northern California.
Tiffany is the product lead for a(n awesome) cross-functional team of engineers, designers, content managers, and brand ninjas, overseeing Inflection.com as well as Inflection’s organic marketing channel. Tiffany also is co-founder of Women@Inflection, a community within the company focused on optimizing the working experience for women at Inflection. She joined Inflection in 2011 after graduating from Harvard with a degree in Economics. Outside of work, Tiffany enjoys RockSalt Pilates, adventuring around the Bay, and masterminding ways to anonymously inspire a delightful moment in another person’s day.
Stephanie joined Inflection in March 2011 and leads the Business Development and Strategic Partnership team focusing on revenue and growth for new and existing customer acquisition channels. Prior to Inflection, Stephanie managed affiliate programs and channels and worked in partner marketing and analysis at Support.com and FileMaker, a subsidiary of Apple, Inc. Outside of work, Stephanie’s interests include traveling, cooking, eating, outdoor activities like hiking, sharing her husband’s enthuiasm for cars, and spending time with her family, friends, and loveable labradoodle, Baxter.
Sena joined the Inflection team in 2010 and currently oversees the GoodHire Operations team. Sena enjoys leading the team’s efforts to provide every single customer with exceptional service. Prior to joining Inflection, Sena earned her Master’s degree in Business Management at Bellevue University and worked in the insurance and hotel industries. Sena’s hobbies include spending time with her family, reading and travelling.
Like the itinerant tinkerer, Jeff pulls a host of tools to fashion business requirements into working logic for our various sites. Jeff’s tool belt consists of a myriad of Microsoft, Java, and Big Data devices that can shape bits into bytes, bytes into words, and words into Tweets. At Inflection, Jeff enjoys putting data together and crafting better experiences for our users. Jeff’s code is tested to be Certified Organic and locally produced. No animals are harmed during the production of his code. Jeff has been known to: hike without seeing a shower for days, bicycle up hills he should not dare, and enter golf tournaments he never wins. His stats, as expressed in D&D equivalents, are: STR = 13 CON = 18 DEX = 16 INT = 19 WIS = 19 CHA = 5
Yev joined Inflection in September 2008 and was one of the very first engineers on the PeopleSmart project. After 4 years of working on the key features of PeopleSmart site and STORM platform, Yev was tasked with leading GoodHire technical team. Prior to Inflection, Yev worked for multiple Bay Area startups specializing from young entrepreneurs social networking to brokering insurance for S&P500 companies. Yev’s passions include traveling, sailing, snowboarding and enjoying as many sci-fi movies/stories as he can get his hands on.
Conrad began consulting with Inflection in early 2007 and joined full-time in February 2008. Conrad is the other lead architect behind STORM and helped scale the Inflection engineering team on a shared application framework. Conrad’s consulting experience ranges from large corporations (Accenture) to startups (RelayHealth) to independent consulting (The Enticy Group, CadyTech). Conrad’s interests include theatre, explaining complicated technical concepts in laymen’s terms, and singing at company holiday parties.
The most enthusiastic QA you’ll ever meet, Omar joined Inflection in April 2011. He now manages the Quality Assurance team. Not only does he dedicate himself to the quality of all our websites, his contagious energy motivates everyone around him. It’s not surprising to hear his “oh yeah!” and “go, team, go!” chanted as he walks by. When Omar takes a break from looking for bugs and wrangling our releases, he can be found at the gym working out or in Napa exploring the latest tasty restaurants and wineries.
Geoff joined Inflection in September 2010 managing data acquisition and strategic partnerships for both people search and genealogy products. Prior to working at Inflection, Geoff served as CEO of LocatePLUS, a national provider of online public record services for professionals and law enforcement customers. Geoff’s background also includes nearly two decades of related experience with investigative data firms Amerisearch, Accusearch, and CDB Infotek (acquired by Choicepoint). Outside of work, Geoff’s interests include coaching football, training in mixed martial arts, and participating in various charitable activities.
Arthi joined Inflection in May 2014 and now leads the Finance and Accounting team. Arthi has a strong focus in financial modeling and is passionate about the tech sector. Prior to Inflection, Arthi worked at Yahoo! supporting properties such as Flickr, Y! Messenger, and Answers. Arthi earned an MBA in Finance from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with an exchange at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. Her passions outside of work include international travel, gardening, and snuggling with her dog and daughter.
Inga brings a passion for problem-solving design to her work at Inflection. Having honed her skills at legendary design firm Pentagram, Inga applied her talents to Silicon-Valley brands including Egnyte, Eyefi, and KLA-Tencor. When she’s not perfecting pixels at work or designing cycling kits at home, Inga enjoys hiking, biking, sailing, and creating jewelry and art from sea glass collected on global beaches.
Jeff leads the engineering initiatives for Identity.com, drawing on more than 13 years of experience at Swiftype, SeeClickFix, and Yale University’s High Performance Computing Center. When he’s not working on implementing new features and improving existing ones for iD, you’ll find him hiking with his family or preparing a great meal. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s degree in Geophysics and Seismology from the University of California Santa Barbara.
As Director of Product Management for Consumer Products, Heather runs our multitude of websites geared towards consumers, most notably PeopleSmart. She has three boys (7, 10, 12) and a step-daughter (23), so her second official title is “Mom.” Otherwise, she enjoys home improvement projects (like reupholstering furniture), decorating cupcakes, rescuing pit bulls, saving hermit crabs, flower gardening, and watching Star Trek, Kevin Smith, and any show about house flipping.
