Due to global supply chain shortages and logistical constraints, some drug test collection sites are being impacted with an insufficient amount of instant drug test kits. The lab networks are working with supply-chain specialists to ensure these issues can be mitigated as much as possible. Here are some important FAQs for employers and candidates who are ordering 5 and 10 panel quick tests.
When scheduling online, will available quick test collection sites be updated based on shortages?
No, they likely will not. Simply, because the sites may be out of tests one day but have some the next. It’s a quickly changing landscape.
What advice could you provide for our candidates/donors?
Direct them to other in-network locations that may have supplies. If possible, have them call in advance to see if the location has quick test supplies available.
Can a quick test be converted to a lab-based test if the collection site is out of test kits?
No, the collection site won’t be able to automatically convert the testing method. As the employer, you will need to cancel the original test and reorder, and expand the scheduling options to include lab-based testing.
